新卒で、この4月から社会人になるかたは、今は不安もあり期待もありの状況かもしれませんね。私も37年前に新卒の時は同じ気持ちでした。まずはフラットない気持ちで社会人のスタートを切ってもらいたいと思います。

仕事をする上での心構えで重要なのは仕事を通じて成長する、仕事を通じて自己実現を図るという気持ちを常に持つことです。

仕事を通じて成長するためには、まずは仕事の「型」を習得するところからがスタートです。
今までの経験で、自身の理論もあるかと思いますが、理論よりもまずは「型」の習得です。
柔道や剣道を思い浮かべてください。いきなり試合ではなく、受け身や素振りの稽古があるはずです。
その鍛錬が「型」の習得です。まずは焦らず「型」を習得しましょう。

自己実現を図るためには、目標を持つ必要があります。大きな目標でもいいですし、小さな目標でもいいです。
その目標を達成するために今足りないスキルは何かを考えてみてください。
それを仕事を通じて習得していく努力が必要です。

目標は途中で変わっても問題ありません。
小さな目標でも、それを習得して、また次の小さな目標に挑戦することでも問題ありません。
常に目標を持つことが、自己実現の第一歩です。

新社会人になるに当たっては、この二つを心に留めていただければと思います。
不安よりも期待を持ってフラットな気持ちで臨んでください。

New grads starting their professional journey this April may be experiencing a mix of uncertainty and anticipation, I know.
Almost 37 years ago, when I was new grads, I used to have the same feelings. If you’re new grads, it’s essential to approach the start of your professional career with an open mind.

A crucial mindset for work is to always have the intention of growing and achieving self-realization through your job.
To foster growth at work, start by mastering the "form(型)”or basics of your job.
While your previous experiences contribute to your knowledge, focus on mastering the fundamentals as “form(型)” before delving into theories.
Think of it like practicing judo(柔道) or kendo(剣道)– initial training involves learning the basic forms(型).

Take your time to master these "forms(型)” without rushing.In the pursuit of self-realization, setting your own goals is crucial. These goals can be grand or modest.
Any goals will be OK for you.

Identify the skills you currently lack to achieve those goals and make an effort to acquire them through your work.
Goals may change along the way, and that's okay.
Achieving small goals, learning from them, and moving on to the next challenge is the key.
Always having goals, whether big or small, marks the first step toward self-realization.

As you embark on your journey as a new professional, keep these two aspects in mind.
Approach it with a mindset of anticipation rather than anxiety. And embrace the opportunities for both personal and professional development.
